COVID-19 Update: 7.25.22
As a result of the pandemic, so many things have changed; however, I remain committed to your safety and health. Considering the very nature of massage requires skin-to-skin contact, infection control has always been a top priority for my practice. As we navigate life with the coronavirus, my established guidelines may be modified due to upticks and declines in the number of cases. Please help me to support all of my clients by cooperating with these guidelines:
My practice follows the guidelines developed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as infection control recommendations made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). In addition, I’ve incorporated more industry specific guidelines developed by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB).
I look forward to seeing you. I am happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps I take to keep you, and every client, safe in my practice.
In good health,
Jo-Ellen B. McCarrick, LMT
- If you feel ill on the day of your session, there is no penalty for canceling your appointment. Massage is not advised if you have any symptoms of illness.
- When you arrive at the office, please call or text to 508-603-9779 to check in. Please remain in your vehicle until I respond that I'm ready for you to enter the office. This measure ensures that we have one client in the massage office at a given time and limits contact with other clientele. Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before your scheduled time.
- Face masks are currently optional. Clients that choose to mask may want to consider wearing KN95 masks. Face masks are available upon request. For your safety, I wear a face mask for the entire session.
- I request that clients follow the CDC guidelines with respect to vaccination. Proof of vaccination is not required at this time.
- Alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be readily available for use in my office.
- Please do not wear gloves. Per Massachusetts State reopening requirements, gloves use during your massage is not required; however, I will wear gloves upon request.
- All clients must sign an informed consent form that states, “I understand that close contact with people increases the risk of infection from COVID-19. By signing this form, I acknowledge that I am aware of the risks involved and give consent to receive massage from this practitioner.”
- Friends and family of the client are not allowed to wait inside the building while the client receives massage, unless they are that client’s legal guardian.
- For clients that are recovering from the coronavirus, please contact me in advance of your appointment to ensure that massage is safe for you. I am currently following the CDC guidelines with respect to quarantine, isolation and return to work.
